  1. Well Mary, I've covered a couple of those denominations in my lifetime with there rules and regulations which is flawed man making decisions for follows. My only prerequisite is knowing Jesus as my savior and I'm willing to share Him if you want to know...everything else is measured against that fact.

Drop by my site Paul and Paula's Place and give us a link to your books and tell us what you think...and ..I'll be back...Paula

  3. I was born Jewish - attended an orthodox Jewish boarding school - married an Episcopalian - and have totally rejected organized religion because of the negative influences ascribed to them - wars, hypocrisy, control, etc. I do not usually comment on other people's beliefs, as it is not my business - and I run for the hills if I think someone is proselytizing. Personally, I truly believe a higher power created the universe - but that is about it. No heaven or hell for me - we create our own heaven here on earth! All the bells and whistles that are attached to every religion make me smile - but that is just my opinion. You write lucidly and coherently, with a touch of humor and a very open mind, which is refreshing. I have enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to more.

  4. mary hi,

i just joined your site, or blog or whatever it's called. it's the first time i 'join' a something online. and your something is very pleasantly designed and your article is well written and interesting. i went so far as to post a comment but being the 'shlumiel' that i am, i'm not sure i've done it right... maybe it's because i'm on my work computer... i'll try again when i get home.
in the meanwhile, i'll post here my comment about what you wrote there and i recommend every one to click your link and have a look.
    "mary hi.
i love the way you point at those tiny differences in peoples practices and the disproportionate importance that each denomination gives them.
i'm jewish and judaism abunds with this kind of sectarism.
people will be divided into those who do eat beans during passover, and those who don't.
those who want their wives to wear a wig and those who favor a kerchief.
those who wear a black velvet cap and those who wear a colorful cotton one.
those who add 3 drops of water to their wine, and those who don't.
i could go on and on...
and all the examples i gave are within the 'orthodox' comunity. don't even get me started about the liberals, the reformists etc.
is god so small that he cares about the music you listen to, the water in your wine, the clothes you wear to worship? the worship itself? i think he doesn't, the worship is for the benefit of the worshipper, the prayer is for the well being of the one who utters it.
He is bigger than all that, and by the way, maybe He is a She?...
    marc."
